The Marysville Globe and Arlington Times, award-winning weekly newspapers serving the cities of Marysville and Arlington, have an immediate opening for a full-time news reporter. Situated near picturesque mountains, lakes, rivers and the Puget Sound, both communities lie on the north crescent of the fertile Snohomish River Delta in northwestern Snohomish County, Washington. The ideal candidate understands the workings of a community newspaper and must have a journalism degree or equivalent experience, a reliable vehicle and a desire to excel in journalism. You will be required to cover local news and events and write penetrating features on topics as varied as the environment, business and health care. You must be as comfortable writing soft features as you are covering hard news such as trials, accidents and City Council or School Board meetings, as well as keeping the web site updated with stories, photos and videos.
